"Don't Get Caught" is my first attempt at a saxophone section feature (sax just happens to be my instrument). The tune is based on "rhythm" changes in the key of concert A-flat. The brass parts are pretty straight forward until the nasty brass soli after the solo section. The saxophone parts are somewhat difficult, especially the inner voices (as usual for a sax feature). The solo section is open with changes printed in the first alto, first tenor, first trumpet and first trombone. Piano, guitar and/or bass solos would also be appropriate for this tune. This song would be great for any jazz band with a burnin' saxophone section. |
