Kaleidoscope was commissioned by the Murfreesboro Band in honor of a student whose miracle recovery from Ewings Sarcoma gave the band reason to celebrate. The name "Kaleidoscope" comes from the idea of constant change and the different melodies each represent the emotions felt by friends and family during this trying time. This piece rejoices in the triumph of the human spirit. |
