Almost Home, described as "reflective and spiritually moving," is a piece for concert band and electric guitar, but it is not a real concerto. The work is based on two themes from Aaron Copland's Our Town and on an original theme. Although the flavor of this music was inspired by the sound of guitarist Pat Metheny, it is not a "jazz" or "third-stream" composition. |
