Peter Laing |

Peter
Laing was born in St. John’s, Newfoundland and has lived in
Vancouver, British Columbia since 1999.
He completed his undergraduate degree at Memorial University of
Newfoundland where he studied under the direction of Clark Ross.
He received his masters degree in music composition at the
University of British Columbia in 2002, where his principal teacher
was Steven Chatman.
He has works published with both Twin Towers Music Publications
and TRN Music Publishers.
Peter Laing is a three time consecutive first place award
winner of the Newfoundland and Labrador Arts and Letters Competition
from 1999 – 2001.
He has written compositions for choirs, concert bands, small
ensembles, and symphony orchestras.
He is most noted for his concert marches which are both
challenging and heroic in nature. |
