Jay Buchanan

Jay Buchanan, a native of central Florida, has been a band director at both the junior high and high school level in the Orlando area.  During these years his bands received numerous superior ratings at contests held by the Florida Bandmasters Association.  These bands were also invited to perform several times at Walt Disney World.  Mr. Buchanan completed his bachelor's degree as well as his master's of music education degree at Florida State University.  While at FSU, he studied composition with Harold Schiffman and instrumental arranging with Charles Carter.  His compositions are aimed at achieving successful performance by bands ranging from beginning to high school level.
